SCOPE — WHAT SITS INSIDE THIS SERVICE AND WHAT DOES NOT
Before you read further
INSIDE THE SERVICE
- Sorting papers by year or category alongside you
- Labelling folders and boxes to a consistent convention
- Photographing and describing objects in plain language
- Scanning and indexing documents onto family-owned storage
- Writing summaries and gap lists you keep and use yourself
OUTSIDE THE SERVICE — REFERRED TO A QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL
- Reading documents for legal or financial meaning
- Valuing objects or paper assets
- Advising on what should happen to anything
- Filing or submitting anything on your behalf
- Contacting any authority, institution or third party
Legatum holds no regulated licence. Every session produces physical and digital materials you control — nothing is sent, filed or actioned without your explicit instruction.
PROGRAMMES — THREE ENTRY POINTS, EACH COMPLETE IN ITSELF
Choose the scope that feels right for now
You are not committing to anything beyond the programme you select. Each one is designed to leave the work in a better state than it arrived, even if nothing more follows.
ONE DECADE · 2 HOURS · RM 530
Single-Decade Sort
A deliberately small engagement covering one decade of household papers — often the earliest one, which is usually where the uncertainty sits. You see how the work feels before deciding whether to continue.
- Labelled folder set for the decade
- One-page written summary you keep
- Gap list noting what appears missing
- Reusable method sheet to continue independently
6 SESSIONS · 6 WEEKS · UP TO 150 ITEMS · RM 2,050
Objects & Provenance Programme
A six-week programme for families who hold photographs, letters, jewellery, instruments, furniture and textiles. Each item is referenced, photographed and described in plain language with a provenance line in the family's own words.
- Printed and digital catalogue
- Reference labels and provenance notes
- Storage condition checklist
- Family recording session for attached stories
UP TO 18 SESSIONS · 16 WEEKS · RM 4,700
Complete Records & Handover Programme
A four-month programme covering papers, devices and objects together. The result is one arrangement that any family member can navigate unaided, with a written orientation document and a register of open points to take to qualified professionals.
- Full inventory and indexed digital archive
- Object catalogue with provenance lines
- Orientation document and annual review calendar
- Three walkthrough sessions for family members
Next: Why families choose Legatum — a short read.
APPROACH — WHAT SETS THE WAY WE WORK APART
Unhurried, administrative, yours to keep
No time pressure
Sessions are booked week by week. If a family needs to pause, the work simply waits. Nothing is held on our servers.
Family-owned storage
Digital outputs go onto drives you own and control. Legatum retains no copies once a programme closes.
Plain language throughout
Summaries and catalogue entries are written so a family member with no prior knowledge can read and act on them independently.
Clear scope, no overreach
Legatum does not read documents for meaning, offer regulated opinions or contact anyone on your behalf. Anything outside cataloguing is referred to the right professional.
Family members can participate
Sessions are structured so relatives can sit in, contribute context and learn the method — so the arrangement stays maintained long after the programme ends.
In-person, Kota Damansara
All work is carried out at the family's location in and around Petaling Jaya and Klang Valley. No materials leave your hands during a session.
START SMALL
The first step is a short conversation.
There is no commitment beyond the programme you choose, and no pressure to choose one at all. Send a message or call — either is fine.

QUESTIONS — THINGS FAMILIES ASK BEFORE GETTING IN TOUCH
Common questions
What does a first session actually look like?
We sit with whoever is available, look at what exists — papers in boxes, folders, drives, surfaces — and spend the session organising one portion of it by year. You receive a labelled folder set and a one-page summary at the end. Nothing is taken away, and no decisions are required on the day.
Do I have to be present at every session?
For the Single-Decade Sort, at least one family member should be present so context can be added as papers are sorted. For longer programmes, we can agree on which sessions require family input and which are more mechanical — scanning, referencing, cataloguing — and those can proceed with whoever is available to let us in.
What if we are in the middle of a more complicated situation — a recent passing, a dispute?
Administrative organisation can proceed alongside regulated processes without interfering with them. Legatum does not read documents for their legal content, does not contact solicitors, notaries or financial advisers, and produces no output that would be used in a regulated context. It is safe to begin. We will flag anything you may wish to take to a qualified professional.
How long does the Complete Records & Handover Programme take in practice?
The programme runs across sixteen weeks with up to eighteen sessions. Most families find the cadence — roughly one session per week — manageable alongside other responsibilities. The programme can pause for travel, family events or other reasons, and resume from where it stopped.
Are the fees listed all-inclusive?
Yes. The quoted fees cover all sessions, physical materials (folders, labels, reference cards), printed and digital outputs, and travel within Petaling Jaya and the Klang Valley. External storage media — drives, archival boxes — are purchased separately by the family at cost price; we can advise on what to buy.
Will the work be confidential?
Everything seen during a session remains strictly between Legatum and the family. We produce no copies for ourselves, retain nothing on external servers, and do not discuss or share any content we encounter. A confidentiality agreement is available on request before any session begins.
